Fiber optic attenuators - the device for capacity blanking in an optical fiber (optic-fiber, communication fiber lines).
Attenuators of the fiber optic line reminds itself the normal slot for connection of connectors. Outwardly differs only a text on the casing in which attenuation entered by it is specified. The principle of action is based on "bad" incomplete connection of connectors. Between connectors in the attenuator there is a small air gap which creates necessary resistance to a signal. It is used in equipment sensitive to too big signal level.
