Fiber optic pigtails (or mounting optical cords) is a piece fiber optic cable, press out on the one hand. Fiber optic pigtails are used for fast press out optic-fiber cable when mounting communication networks by association of pigtail to a cable by means of welding or mechanical connectors. In fact, pigtail is an optical cord (patch cord) - without the second connector therefore the demands similar to requirements to a patch cords are made to pigtail. Respectively, the great attention is given to quality of pigtail, to real and reverse loss, asymmetry of provision of a fiber in ferrule connector, mechanical durability. Pigtail are used when mounting passive switching centers.
